DESCRIPTION:This is the CCWA‘s premier event. It is a chance to meet or get reacquainted with people who share your interest in the Watershed. The evening will have a speaker……with your neighbors.\n\n\nHors d’oeuvres at 5 pm\, dinner at 6 pm (please bring along a covered dish to share). \n  \nGuest presenter Rebecca Kennedy will be speaking about “Being a Water Steward and How Micro Plastics Effect our Waterways” at 7 pm. \n  \nAbout the Speaker \n \nRebecca Kennedy has acted as president of the Watershed Coalition of the Lehigh Valley since 2009. She works as a project manager for PENNVEST\, and is active in a wide variety of community-based water resource initiatives\, among them the Master Watershed Steward program. She has a background in geology and water resource management\, and enjoys biking\, swimming\, kayaking\, running\, and anything outdoors.

DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by CCWA and others. \nwww.walkinpennswoods.org \nGuided tour walk through Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary and its steep forested slopes and meadows; maintained by Tim Burris\, Preserve Manager of the Natural Lands Trust. Mariton is perched on the steep slopes of Bougher Hill overlooking the scenic Delaware River. A highlight of the preserve’s trail system is the River Lookout Trail\, with an overlook of both the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River 300 feet below.

DESCRIPTION:Durham Township is taking their annual Community Day celebration and giving it an ‘old school’ twist for 2018. The 2018 ‘Community Picnic’ will have live music by Durham native Alex Radus; food and concession sales; lawn games – (get your horse shoe throwing arm warmed up); petting farm and pony rides for the kids; guided tours of the historic Durham Grist Mill and much more! \nThis day is set aside each year to celebrate the good fortune of living in beautiful Durham Valley. It is a time to catch up with old friends and neighbors and get to know the newcomers. This is a day to celebrate a community\, but\, that can only be accomplished if the community shows up to celebrate. So make plans to head to Durham\, bring along a lawn chair\, a picnic blanket\, the kids and your appetite\, its going to be a great day. \nCCWA will not attend this year.
